Modern Girls Kitchen provides recipes, tips, and ideas for cooking, baking and entertaining in the real world. The one where you'd like to bake your cake and eat it too, just as you'd like to spend five hours grinding your own spices or preparing to make vanilla essence from a vanilla bean, a bottle of vodka and a couple of empty salad dressing bottles but, truth be told, you're just as likely to buy the spices, drink the vodka and settle for take-out.

Modern Girls' Kitchen was created (and is written by) by Emma Williams, a 30-something writer, cook and photographer who 'daylights' as an advertising agency copywriter. Originally from the UK, she currently lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee (USA) where she frequently subjects friends to her cooking, baking and entertaining projects.

Emma launched Modern Girls Kitchen in September 2005 to help other 30-something single "modern" girls discover that cooking, dining and entertaining in the modern world doesn't have to mean spending all day in the kitchen (nor does it require an unlimited budget, prolonged unemployment, or endless supplies of white table linens).

Emma's work has appeared in Her Sports, Trail Runner and Organic Producer magazines as well as on Active.com and Ironman.com. She has also served as restaurant critic for the Chattanooga Pulse.
